For three days, starting from the early hours of this Friday, the six million inhabitants of Sierra Leone will not be able to leave their homes.

Not even the heavy downpour that flooded the capital of Sierra Leone on Thursday stopped them.

In recent days, thousands of people have flocked to Freetown’s grocery stores and fruit and vegetable markets to stock up on supplies.

It had to be done before the three-day curfew decreed by President Ernest Bai Koroma with the aim of stopping the spread of Ebola came into force.

During this period, volunteers and health workers will go house to house, delivering information and looking for patients.
