The Nigerian government assured this Wednesday that all schools in the country will remain closed until October 13, as part of the measures it took to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus.
The school year was supposed to start on Monday, but the Ministry of Education will surely close educational establishments to give time to train their workers in detection and management of suspected cases of the disease.
In Nigeria five people have died of Ebola. The outbreak of the disease in West Africa has had its epicenters in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, and has already left more than 1,400 dead.
