E-cigarettes may lead to drug use, study finds

A team of US researchers found that electronic cigarettes, designed to help people quit smoking, could make them more likely to use other, more harmful drugs.

The research, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, ensures that electronic cigarettes do not harm the heart and lungs, like conventional ones, but do harm the brain. In this sense, they point out that despite eliminating the toxic effects of tobacco, they emit purely highly addictive nicotine.
