The first person from the UK to be infected during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa was released from hospital on Wednesday after being treated with the experimental drug ZMapp.
William Pooley, 29, contracted the disease while working as a sick volunteer in Sierra Leone.
«I have been fortunate in a number of ways: first, in the quality of care he received, which is worlds apart from what people in West Africa are receiving,» he said.
«My symptoms never progressed to the worst stages of the disease; he witnessed horrible deaths, I had unpleasant symptoms but nothing compared to the worst,» she added.
