The African Union (AU) called on West African countries to combat the Ebola epidemic in ways that do not cause isolation or lead to stigmatization of victims or countries.
Speaking at an emergency meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, AU Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said the organization must come up with a comprehensive response to attack the biggest epidemic of this deadly virus.
The charity Doctors Without Borders has criticized isolation planes in some countries, including Sierra Leone, saying it could force those affected into hiding.
